Who am I?

Hello there! I’m a highly creative person with a passion for learning across a variety of fields. Among my greatest passions is languages. Since 2018, I’ve dedicated myself to helping Czech and German learners achieve their language goals.

My primary focus is on individual learners, guiding them to language mastery. I go beyond traditional teaching; I assist my students in overcoming fears and frustrations, sharing the cultures and instilling in them my passion for language learning.

In my sessions, I don’t just transmit language from books; I share the authentic language spoken by locals, drawing from my first hand experience of living in the Czech Republic and Germany. Eager to discover more? Keep reading…

I am Daniela, a professional language tutor for Czech and German.

The story of my language journey

About language tutor, German teacher Daniela Grunwald in Germany

My story begins in the Czech Republic, where I lived until I finished University, where I studied Chemistry. I wanted to bring my knowledge of Chemistry and my passion for languages together, so I decided to move to Germany.

While I worked as a Chemical Engineer, not only did I work alongside native Germans, I had to write project proposals, reports, and articles in perfect German. I also spent five years working as a Manager, so I had to learn more advanced vocabulary from business and industry. Believe me, it was difficult, but it was the best language education I could have gotten. Thanks to hard work and dedication, I can now speak excellent German and can teach it to others.

Born in the Czech Republic. Lived in Germany and the Amazon jungle. Currently living in Colombia.

Then, I traveled to South America without knowing any Spanish. But, by listening and speaking to locals, I began to pick it up! I traveled all over South America, exposing myself to so many beautiful cultures. But, the wind blew me back to Colombia, where I still live to this day. I decided that I wanted to do what I enjoyed, so I started teaching languages.

So, why do I teach German and Czech?

So, why German and Czech? Well, five years ago, when I first started to teach German, I already knew structure, grammar, vocabulary, and phrases because I learnt them from scratch. I just wanted to share what I learnt over the years with motivated students. Since I enjoyed teaching German, I thought to myself, “what if I taught Czech too?”

So, I started offering Czech lessons. Surprisingly, I had a lot to learn. Czech is my native language, but I had to re-learn formal grammar and gain a deeper understanding of the linguistic concepts I have used my entire life. I rediscovered how beautiful my native language is and it makes me feel very proud.

Do you still want to know more about me?

Apart from languages, I am a real all-rounder. I adore crafting and creating things. I make my own candles and soaps, along with natural cosmetics, so I still do lots of chemistry. I sew, knit, and crochet my own clothes.

I also study aromatherapy and herbalism. I grow my own vegetables and love food. At the moment I am obsessed with watercolor painting. So, if you have any tips, please let me know!

Not only that, but I enjoy good company with a glass of wine, books, and music. I love animals of all kinds, but I particularly love my four cats.

As you can imagine, I am always occupied with something, but I always make time to learn a new hobby!

Congratulations if you made it this far. You know all about me, now I hope you also want to learn with me.
